It occasionally happens that with some Audio-Technica needles (as well as their replicas), the V-magnet may be misaligned due to a twisted needle tube. This misalignment can lead to uneven channel tracking, resonances in the body, or, in the worst case, the needle skipping. In most instances, this issue arises from a slight misalignment during insertion into the cartridge or during needle transport.
To address this problem, we recommend removing the needle from the cartridge and aligning the magnets on the back of the needle using a toothpick or the back of a matchstick so that they are mirror-symmetrical to each other. Keep in mind that this process requires skill, as the needle is delicate and needs to be handled carefully. Pay attention to the fact that the damper on the “button” (the plastic part) is glued, and the adhesive joint may come loose.
