Shure N55 E | BLACK DIAMOND

This stylus is a high-quality replacement manufactured by analogis for the original Shure N55E. The diamond is mounted in a “nude” configuration, meaning the diamond tip is fixed directly into the cantilever without an additional metal shank. This construction reduces the moving mass and can contribute to more precise tracking, particularly in the high-frequency range.

The geometry differs slightly from the original design. The stylus sits somewhat flatter relative to the record surface and engages the groove slightly deeper. As a result, it is particularly suitable for well-preserved records. It is less suited for heavily warped or damaged records.

The diamonds in this series are manufactured from synthetic diamond material cut from a rod-shaped blank. Due to the production process, visible irregularities may appear under a microscope, such as a rough surface on the side faces or a slightly off-center position of the cut. These characteristics relate to the outer form of the diamond blank and generally do not negatively affect the stylus’ tracking performance in practical use.
