*Early shellac records (before 1925) were often produced with groove widths ranging from approximately 120 µm (standard groove width with a 30 µm tip radius) to 150 µm. This stylus can also be used for such records. It may allow the stylus to track less worn areas of the groove walls, which can result in sonic benefits. However, in practice, we have also experienced that surface scratches can become more audible as a result.
