This Swiss reproduction differs from the original stylus: Instead of iron blades, cuboid magnets were used here. As a result, the sound is more linear and doesn’t emphasize the range between 300 Hz and 2000 Hz as strongly as the original stylus. However, this also makes it noticeably quieter, so the phono preamplifier should ideally be low-noise. In essence, most modern preamplifiers meet this requirement, but compatibility issues might arise with very old models.
Alternatively, the stylus is also available with iron blades and an elliptical cut. This variant is slightly louder (though not as loud as the original stylus) and provides an improved sound image due to the elliptical cut. These options are listed below.
