This stylus is a high-quality swissmade replica of the original National (Technics) EPS 24 ES needle with a so-called “nude diamond” or “nudeline”.
This means that the diamond stylus tip sits directly in the tube without a mount. This saves weight and reduces resonances, which is why this design plays noticeably more airy and transparent, especially in the higher tones.

These diamonds are made from a cut-to-length synthetic cuboid bar. Viewed under the microscope, you will hardly find an uglier diamond: the sides (not the cut!) are rough, the cut tends to be outside the center of the cuboid (off center cut) and the flanks appear unevenly long as a result. But if you then put the microscope on its side and close your eyes and just listen to the sound, you will see the true beauty of the BLACK DIAMOND series.
